Mr. Chee Hong Tat had earlier hinted at the Punggol Coast transport hub’s impending opening during his ministry’s budget debate in March, where he outlined the Government’s broader efforts to elevate public transport infrastructure nationwide. The LTA acknowledges that bus operators may require a brief period to acclimate to the new interchange, and with the authority’s support, they will closely monitor operations to make any necessary adjustments.
Go-Ahead Singapore’s managing director, Leonard Lee, confirmed that the company has proactively trained up to 200 bus drivers to familiarize them with the new interchange and the extended Service 34.
